Worldpay
Worldpay (UK) Limited is the British company behind the Worldpay card acquiring business. Companies House shows it at The Walbrook Building, 25 Walbrook in London, incorporated on 15 July 2010 under the name Ship Bidco Limited. The FCA e-money firms list shows it as an authorised electronic money institution under firm reference 1031413 with effect from 19 November 2025. Worldpay takes card, wallet and local method payments online and in store, runs fraud screening, authentication, disputes, a card vault and reporting, issues virtual cards to pay suppliers, and sends payouts to more than 180 countries in over 135 currencies. It says the enterprise side alone processes USD 2.3 trillion a year. Global Payments completed its purchase of Worldpay in January 2026. The register entry for this firm gives an Atlanta address, which is the owner's head office rather than the UK company's.
