Banks, account providers and the financial companies around them, rated 0 to 10 for what a business actually needs. Every score carries a reason and a source.
Bank Index and BankStore are not banks and do not hold your money. Built on public information and the team's own experience; no confidential client or partner data. This is information, not financial advice.
Every bank has a score from 0 to 10 in each category, in steps of 0.5. Each score carries a one-sentence reason with a checkable fact and a source. Geographic categories are left empty when a bank has no licence or real corporate banking in that region.
The overall score is the average of the non-geographic categories, so a Swiss bank is not punished for having no US branch. When you select categories, the score becomes the plain average of the selected ones. Ties are broken by total assets.
An overall score needs at least three scored categories; one good number is not a verdict. An institution whose licence no regulator's own list confirms cannot rank above confirmed ones. We never call a country strong because of our own averages: where the page compares jurisdictions it uses the World Bank governance indicators, named with the date. Before every update an automatic check reruns these rules and blocks publishing if the top of the ranking breaks them, and machine-read facts are re-opened on the live page at random.
Facts come from annual reports, regulators, bank websites, Trustpilot and the financial press, each with a date. Scores are editorial judgements built on those facts and on the team's own aggregated, unbiased experience; no client or partner data goes into them. We do not give financial advice. We show the materials and information we hold, nothing more. Found an error? Use the feedback button at the top.
The ranking is built only on publicly available information and on the BankStore team's own hands-on, unbiased experience of opening and running business accounts, used in aggregated form. Public information means regulator registers and enforcement notices, annual reports and filings, banks' own pricing and terms pages, customer reviews, the financial press and market research. The public ranking uses aggregated insights only, with no client-specific data included. We do not use, share or publish confidential information about our clients, partners or their applications.
Where a fact could not be confirmed in a public source, the field says "no data" rather than showing a number. Bank Index and BankStore are not banks, do not take deposits and do not hold client money. We do not give financial advice. We show the materials and information we hold, nothing more.
A score you disagree with, a fact that is out of date, a bank that should be here. Everything you write goes straight to the team that maintains the index.
