Truist Financial was formed on 6 December 2019 from the merger of BB&T and SunTrust and is based in Charlotte with $556 billion in assets and 1,928 branches across the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic. Simple Business Checking has no monthly fee with 50 free transactions and $2,000 of free cash deposits; Dynamic Business Checking costs $20, waived at a $5,000 relationship balance. Trade finance in Asia, Africa and the Middle East runs through a 2023 partnership with Standard Chartered. In February 2026 Truist Wealth advisers began offering two spot bitcoin ETFs; the bank has no direct crypto or stablecoin product. Moody's cut the holding company to Baa1 in May 2024 after the sale of Truist Insurance Holdings, and S&P rates it A-.
