Open in Bank Index

Tink is an open banking platform based in Stockholm and owned outright by Visa since 2022. It sells one API that reaches more than 3,000 European banks, and on top of it a set of products: account to account payments, variable recurring payments, payouts, account and balance checks, income and expense verification, transaction enrichment and money management. Its customers are banks, lenders, fintechs and merchants who embed those calls in their own products. Tink is not a place a business can hold money. It issues no accounts, no IBANs and no cards, and it publishes no prices for new customers.

Scores, 0 to 10

6.5Financial strength & stability
Wholly owned by Visa since 2022 with more than 600 staff and 13 offices, though Tink publishes no financial statements of its own. · source
6.0Europe (EU, EEA, Switzerland)
Tink AB is authorised by Finansinspektionen for payment services and reaches more than 3,000 banks across 19 European markets, but it provides no euro account and no IBAN. · source
6.0Fintech companies that need a partner bank
Supplying regulated access to more than 3,000 European banks through one API to 10,000 developers is precisely what fintechs buy from Tink, though it offers no safeguarding accounts or client money handling. · source
6.0On-ramp: buy crypto with fiat
Regulated exchanges use Tink's Pay by Bank to take fiat deposits, including Coinbase in Germany from October 2025 and Bitpanda for EUR and GBP, so it is a working rail into exchanges, but a business cannot buy crypto at Tink itself. · source
5.5United Kingdom
Tink runs a dedicated United Kingdom site and sells variable recurring payments, a product specific to UK open banking, though it holds no UK account for anyone. · source
5.0Online businesses: e-commerce and SaaS
Pay by Bank, payouts and variable recurring payments give merchants account to account checkout and instant refunds, with completion rates of 80 to 90 percent reported. API first with a developer console, sandbox and 10,000 developers, but a software company gets connectivity, not a receiving account or financing. · source
4.5Off-ramp: crypto to fiat in a business account
Tink's settlement accounts were launched in 2022 with the exchange Solidi to handle instant refunds and payouts, but Tink holds no business account to receive crypto proceeds and publishes no crypto source-of-funds rules. · source
4.0Lowest fees
The pricing page says the prices it lists apply only to existing customers and directs new prospects to sales, so no price can be checked before a commercial conversation. · source
4.0Fast digital onboarding
Tink publishes no time to go live and no self-service sign-up; access starts with a sales contact and a console login. · source
4.0Startups & VC-backed companies
Any business can buy the API, but there is no free tier, no published entry price and no startup programme. · source
4.0Customer satisfaction
The only public review signal is an unclaimed Trustpilot profile for tink.com with 29 reviews at 1.5 out of 5; Tink sells to businesses and runs no consumer support channel, so the number carries little weight. · source
3.5Crypto-friendly bank
Tink publishes no acceptable use or prohibited business policy, so its stance on cryptoasset firms cannot be checked; it sells bank connectivity rather than accounts. · source
3.5Foreign-owned & non-resident companies
Tink publishes no onboarding policy for foreign-owned or non-resident companies; it signs commercial contracts rather than opening accounts. · source
3.5High-risk verticals (iGaming, cannabis, adult, forex)
No acceptable use policy or prohibited business list is published, so gambling, adult, cannabis and forex operators have nothing to check against. · source
2.0Cross-border payments, FX and multi-currency accounts
Payments are initiated from the payer's own bank account inside domestic rails; Tink publishes no multi-currency, foreign exchange or cross-border payout product. No accounts, no multi-currency holding, no pooling and no hedging; the platform reads balances that sit at other institutions. · source
1.5Best interest on business balances
Tink is authorised for payment services and its products read data and initiate payments from accounts held at other banks, so there is no balance with Tink to earn interest. · source
1.0Trade, manufacturing & import-export
No letters of credit, guarantees or supply chain finance; Tink sells software for bank data and payment initiation. · source
1.0Business cards (Visa, Mastercard)
Tink issues no debit or credit cards; its products are account data and account to account payments. · source
1.0Crypto wallet and custody for a business
Tink is an open banking payment institution that connects to other banks' accounts and holds no crypto for any client; its products are data access, Pay by Bank and payouts, checked September 2026. · source
1.0Accept crypto payments
Tink's payment products move fiat between bank accounts and include no crypto or stablecoin acceptance for merchants, checked September 2026. · source
1.0Bitcoin
No bitcoin buying, holding or transfer at Tink; it only moves fiat to and from exchanges that sell bitcoin, checked September 2026. · source
1.0Ethereum
No ether buying, holding or transfer at Tink; it only moves fiat to and from exchanges, checked September 2026. · source
1.0Stablecoins (USDC, USDT and others)
Tink offers no stablecoin accounts or payouts; stablecoin settlement work in the group sits with its owner Visa, not with Tink, checked September 2026. · source
