Open in Bank Index

Shift4 is an American merchant acquirer and commerce technology company listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker FOUR. It processes card payments and sells point of sale systems, gateways and e-commerce tools to restaurants, hotels, stadiums, leisure venues and online retailers. In the second quarter of 2026 it handled USD 61 billion of payment volume and reported gross revenue of USD 1,295 million. It is not a bank and does not offer business current accounts, deposits or lending; a company deals with Shift4 to accept card payments, not to hold its money. European and cross-border e-commerce capacity came from Finaro in 2023, and tax free shopping and currency conversion from Global Blue in 2025.

Finaro brought cross-border e-commerce acquiring, Shift4Shop came from the 3dcart purchase, and Global Blue adds tax free shopping and currency conversion on USD 61 billion of quarterly volume. Dynamic currency conversion at the point of sale through Global Blue across 52 countries and cross-border e-commerce acquiring from Finaro, but no multi-currency accounts and no published margins.
