Scotiabank
Scotiabank is Canada's third-largest bank and the most international of the Big Six, with an International Banking division serving over 8 million clients in more than 12 countries including Mexico, Chile, Peru and Brazil. In Mexico it ended fiscal 2025 as the fourth-largest bank by loans. It is transferring its Colombia, Costa Rica and Panama banks to Davivienda for about 20% of the combined entity and bought a 14.9% stake in US regional bank KeyCorp for about 2.8 billion US dollars in 2024. Canadian businesses can open a Basic Business Account online in about 15 minutes for 10.95 dollars a month, waived at an 8,000 dollar balance. Trade finance covers letters of credit and the TradeXpress Elite online platform, while London and Dublin entities serve only wholesale clients.
