Open in Bank Index

Piraeus is a Greek systemic bank supervised by the European Central Bank, with 384 branches, 8,518 staff and 4.5 million active customers at 30 June 2026. For businesses it covers the usual national bank range: current accounts, business cards, payments and collections, working capital, letters of guarantee, factoring, leasing and co-financed development loans, plus corporate transaction banking and risk management for larger companies. It also runs an agricultural banking arm and, since the Ethniki Insurance acquisition, an insurance business. Everything is Greece-based; there is no foreign branch network and no remote onboarding of non-resident companies.

5.0On-ramp: buy crypto with fiat
Evidence is thin and not specific to Piraeus: an August 2026 Greek guide says Greek banks let clients send SEPA transfers to MiCA-licensed exchanges and ask for source-of-funds papers case by case, and a June 2026 Bank of Greece decision bars banks from steering clients to unlicensed crypto services. · source

There is a Starting your business section with standard SME products; no venture debt, no pre-revenue path and no startup programme. · source

Piraeus publishes no policy on crypto businesses; digital assets appear nowhere in the H1 2026 results or the business banking product list. · source
