Mashreq is the oldest privately owned bank in the UAE, controlled by the Al Ghurair family and listed on the Dubai Financial Market. Total assets rose 25% to AED 335 billion in 2025 and profit before tax was AED 8.3 billion. It runs full branches in New York, London and Hong Kong, corporate banking in Oman, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait and India, retail banking in Egypt and a digital bank in Pakistan since 2025. Its NEO BIZ digital business account has no minimum balance on Pro plans for AED 99 per month. In 2021 it paid USD 100 million to US authorities for processing Sudan-related payments.
