Mambu
The register lists Mambu as an e-money institution. It is not one, and it is not a financial company at all. Mambu is a software vendor founded in Berlin in 2011 and now based in Amsterdam that sells a cloud core banking and lending platform. Its customers are banks, neobanks, lenders, fintechs and credit unions, which use the platform to run their own deposit and loan products; Mambu itself holds no licence, takes no deposits and moves no customer money. It raised EUR 200 million from EQT in June 2021, reached a USD 5.3 billion valuation in December 2021 and reported USD 165 million of contracted annual recurring revenue in 2022. A business cannot open an account with Mambu, because Mambu does not sell accounts.
