Intesa Sanpaolo is Italy's largest bank, created in 2007 by the merger of Banca Intesa and Sanpaolo IMI. It has 3,569 branches (2,646 in Italy), 90,831 employees and subsidiary banks in 12 countries across Central and Eastern Europe, Egypt and Ukraine. Its digital bank Isybank had about 900,000 accounts opened by new customers at end-2025. In June 2026 it launched a EUR 30.6bn tender offer for Monte dei Paschi. Business accounts start at EUR 10 per month, with two years free for firms under 24 months old.
