Hana Financial Group
Hana Financial Group is the Seoul holding company for Hana Bank, Korea's third largest bank by assets, plus securities, card, insurance and asset management units. Hana Bank absorbed Korea Exchange Bank in 2015, the historic foreign exchange specialist of Korea. Group subsidiaries operate in 24 countries with bank subsidiaries in China and Indonesia, a 15% stake in Vietnam's BIDV and BNB Hana Bank in New Jersey and New York. In May 2026 Hana Bank paid 1 trillion won for 6.55% of Dunamu, operator of the Upbit crypto exchange. Corporate banking for foreign companies runs through Hana Bank branches and its overseas units, not through an online application.
