Edward Jones
Edward Jones is a retail brokerage and advice firm owned by The Jones Financial Companies, a Missouri registered limited liability limited partnership with 33,160 individual partners. Its 10-K states plainly that Edward Jones is a registered broker-dealer and investment adviser in the United States and that EJ Canada is a registered investment dealer, and that the firm primarily serves individual investors. It operated 14,916 branch offices at 31 December 2025, of which 14,340 were in the United States and 576 in Canada, with more than 20,000 financial advisors, about 55,000 associates and USD 2.5 trillion of client assets under care. Revenue was USD 17.9bn in 2025. It holds no banking licence today: in February 2026 Utah regulators and the FDIC conditionally approved an application to establish Edward Jones Bank as a Utah-chartered industrial bank, which the partnership expects to open by early 2027. Cash is swept to FDIC-insured third-party banks under the Insured Bank Deposit Program, and the checking account and cards sold under the Edward Jones name are issued by U.S. Bank. For a company looking for an operating account, this is not a bank and does not offer one.
