Citibank, National Association is the bank inside Citigroup rather than the holding company. It was established on 16 June 1812, holds OCC national bank charter 1461 and FDIC certificate 7213, and at 30 June 2026 held 1,976.2 billion dollars of assets and 1,547.6 billion dollars of deposits across 955 offices, with its FDIC main office registered in Sioux Falls, South Dakota while the bank is run from New York. Citi says its network reaches more than 180 countries and jurisdictions, with an on-the-ground presence in more than 90, currency issuance in 144 markets and trading floors in 77. For a company the useful part is Citi Services, which runs liquidity management, payments, trade and working capital, investor services and issuer services for about 19,000 institutional clients including 85 percent of the Fortune 500. Its payments arm has direct membership of local clearing schemes in 90 markets, pays in more than 130 currencies and processes about 10 million instant payments a day; its trade arm operates in more than 90 countries and 69 currencies with 850 billion dollars of annual trade throughput. Small business and retail service is a different story: Citi has withdrawn from consumer banking in 13 markets announced in 2021 plus Mexico and UK retail, and its US business account pricing is behind a login.
