Capital One
Capital One is a US bank holding company built on credit cards, with 76,300 employees and total assets of $673.8 billion at 30 June 2026. It closed the $35 billion Discover acquisition on 18 May 2025 and bought the startup card and spend platform Brex for $5.15 billion in April 2026. Small businesses get Basic Checking at $15 a month (waived at a $2,000 balance) or Enhanced Checking at $35, both with unlimited digital transactions and online opening, served by roughly 300 branches in eight states. Its UK and Canadian units issue consumer credit cards only. The bank blocks crypto purchases on its cards and has no digital-asset product.
