Banco do Brasil
Banco do Brasil was founded in 1808, is 50% owned by the Brazilian federal government and is the second largest bank in Brazil with about 86,000 employees and R$2.5 trillion in assets at December 2025. It is the country's main agribusiness lender and its largest trade finance bank, offering ACC and ACE export advances of up to 100% of export value and a US$700 million MSME trade finance line guaranteed by MIGA in June 2025. Small companies can open the Conta PJ Digital with no monthly fee entirely online and sweep idle balances into the BB Rende Fácil CDB at up to 100% of CDI. Abroad it owns BB Americas Bank in Florida, Banco Patagonia in Argentina and Banco do Brasil AG in Vienna, with branches in London, New York, Tokyo and Shanghai. Agribusiness defaults rose to 5.34% in the third quarter of 2025 and cut quarterly profit by 61%.
