Ameriprise Financial
The register calls this entity a bank, and that is only partly right. Ameriprise Financial, Inc. is a Minneapolis wealth management, asset management and insurance group founded in 1894, with more than 10,000 advisors, more than 3.5 million clients and more than 1.6 trillion dollars of assets under management, administration and advisement. It reported 197.9 billion dollars of total assets at 30 June 2026. It does own a bank: Ameriprise Bank, FSB is an OCC-chartered federal savings bank with FDIC certificate 58303, two offices, 25.5 billion dollars of assets and 23.9 billion dollars of deposits at 30 June 2026. That bank sells personal checking with no monthly maintenance fee and a 25 dollar minimum opening deposit, savings paying 2.50 to 3.15 percent APY, CDs, Visa Signature credit cards, home equity lending and securities-based lending. Every one of those is a retail product for an existing advisory client: the checking application requires an individual with a US Social Security or taxpayer identification number and a US residential address, the bank does not accept cash deposits, and its published wire option is domestic only. There is no business account, no company onboarding path and no corporate banking of any kind.
