AIEU Services Limited S.A., formerly Alipay (Europe) Limited S.A., is the Luxembourg-licensed electronic money institution through which Ant International (an Ant Group/Alibaba affiliate) operates the Alipay wallet and Alipay+ cross-border payment network across the EU/EEA. The CSSF authorised it to issue e-money and provide payment services in December 2018, and in 2025 granted it a MiCA e-money token licence, one of only two such licences issued in Luxembourg, enabling a euro-referenced stablecoin. The company underpins Ant International's Antom merchant-payments brand, which connects merchants to more than 300 payment methods across 200-plus markets globally, but AIEU Services itself does not run a public-facing business-account or SME-onboarding product; it is payments infrastructure, not a retail or business bank.

Scores, 0 to 10

5.5Europe (EU, EEA, Switzerland)
CSSF-licensed EMI since 2018 with EEA passporting confirmed via cross-border notifications in Estonia, Latvia and the Netherlands, plus a 2025 MiCA EMT licence, but it does not itself open accounts for individual EU businesses. · source
5.0Financial strength & stability
Backed by Ant International (Ant Group/Alibaba affiliate) with a CSSF licence held continuously since 2018 and a rare 2025 MiCA EMT licence, but the entity itself publishes no financial statements or credit rating. · source
4.0Fintech companies that need a partner bank
AIEU Services is itself the kind of EMI the category describes, and its Antom sister brand supplies payment infrastructure to merchants worldwide, but no public safeguarding-account or agency-banking product for third-party EMIs was found. · source
3.5Stablecoins (USDC, USDT and others)
AIEU is on the ESMA MiCA register as an e-money token issuer after CSSF approval in September 2025 and issues the euro Bettr Settlement Token, but only to Ant International's own licensed affiliates for wholesale settlement, so outside businesses cannot hold or use it. · source
3.0Crypto-friendly bank
The 2025 MiCA EMT authorisation lets it issue a euro-backed stablecoin for the Ant network, but there is no published policy of banking outside crypto exchanges, brokers or miners as clients. · source
3.0Cross-border payments, FX and multi-currency accounts
The entity itself issues EUR e-money only; the wider Antom network it underpins settles in 140-plus currencies, but that is a group-level product, not one AIEU Services offers directly. No multi-currency treasury, cash pooling or host-to-host product is published for AIEU Services itself. · source
3.0Lowest fees
No public fee schedule exists for using AIEU Services directly, since it is not a retail or business account provider. · source
3.0Online businesses: e-commerce and SaaS
The Alipay+/Antom network it underpins connects merchants to more than 300 payment methods across 200-plus markets, though this is sold by the wider Ant International group rather than by AIEU Services directly to individual SMEs. No product for SaaS or subscription businesses is published. · source
3.0Customer satisfaction
No direct-to-business Trustpilot presence or customer review base was found for AIEU Services; it is infrastructure behind a consumer wallet brand, not itself a business-facing product. · source
3.0High-risk verticals (iGaming, cannabis, adult, forex)
No published policy on high-risk verticals was found, since the entity does not offer a direct business-onboarding product. · source
2.0Fast digital onboarding
No public business-account signup process was found; the entity operates as the regulatory backbone of the Alipay/Alipay+/Antom network rather than a direct SME onboarding product. · source
2.0Foreign-owned & non-resident companies
No public SME or business onboarding process exists for AIEU Services at all, resident or non-resident. · source
2.0On-ramp: buy crypto with fiat
AIEU sells no crypto and offers merchants acquiring and wallet connections rather than a business account that pays third parties, so it is not a route to exchanges; no crypto-client policy is published, so evidence is thin. · source
2.0Off-ramp: crypto to fiat in a business account
AIEU does not sell crypto or accept exchange proceeds into business accounts as a service, and publishes no source-of-funds rules for crypto money; evidence is thin. · source
1.5Startups & VC-backed companies
No startup-specific product exists; the entity is payments infrastructure, not an account provider. · source
1.5Trade, manufacturing & import-export
No trade finance product of any kind is published. · source
1.0Best interest on business balances
As a licensed e-money institution it is legally barred from paying interest on e-money balances or lending customer funds. · source
1.0Business cards (Visa, Mastercard)
No card issuance product for AIEU Services was found. · source
1.0Crypto wallet and custody for a business
AIEU, Ant International's Luxembourg e-money institution behind Antom and Alipay+ in Europe, holds no crypto for merchant clients; its only token is restricted to Ant International affiliates, checked September 2026. · source
1.0Accept crypto payments
Antom's payment method list covers cards, wallets and bank transfers with no crypto or stablecoin method, and its July 2026 stablecoin article is a guide rather than a product, checked September 2026. · source
1.0Bitcoin
No bitcoin buying, holding or acceptance at AIEU or in Antom's payment methods, checked September 2026. · source
