Adyen
Adyen was founded in Amsterdam in 2006 and was granted a European banking licence in 2017, which makes it an acquiring bank rather than a reseller of somebody else's acquiring. It processes card and local payments for large merchants and platforms in more than 60 shopper markets on one integration, and sells embedded financial products on top: accounts, card issuing and business capital. Pricing is published as a fixed USD 0.13 processing fee plus a payment method fee, with interchange plus plus on cards, no setup fee and no monthly fee. Adyen reported EUR 1.996 billion of revenue and EUR 925 million of net income for 2024, with EUR 11.425 billion of total assets and more than 4,300 staff.
